RELAXER is an album that embraces some of alt-J's strongest characteristics while also ditching them for some of their most abrasive, schizophrenic, and downright weird music to date. - Three years after This Is All Yours, Alt-J are out to take listeners for another joyride.Still defying labels and pigeonholes, the Leeds group has written Relaxer as a disorienting stylistic patchwork. As ever with Alt-J, you could say that their third album is often pop, sometimes folk (Last Year) or raw rock (Hit Me Like That Snare), occasionally electro, or even lyrical (Pleader), sometimes.
- Alt-J still have a distinctive voice and make music in their own language, and it draws you in instantly. The issue with a few tracks on ‘Relaxer’ is how long each song will keep you interested before you tune out, and overall, how underwhelming the experience of the album as a whole can be – a couple of less thought-out ideas have much more of an effect when the album is so short.

Reduxer (stylised as REDUXER) is the first remix album by English indie rock band alt-J, released on 28 September 2018[1] by Infectious Music and the Canvasback Music division of Atlantic Records.[2] It contains remixes of songs from their third studio album, Relaxer, done by various producers and featuring a number of different vocalists, mainly hip-hop artists.
